Topic Launch - Conisbrough castle

Yesterday we had a great school trip to launch our topic Magnificent Monarchs. We went to Conisbrough Castle. In the morning, we explored the castle and had to climb many steps to get the top. We learnt about who used to live in the castle and what different people used to do. The view from the top was incredible. Then we had our lunch outside in the lovely sunshine. In the afternoon, we had a workshop where we got to take part in finding out lots about the castle. We all remembered it was 850 years old! Some of us got to dress up as the steward, chef and Lady Isabelle to retell the story about the King coming for a visit. We had a lovely day and the children were a credit to the school.
