Pharaoh's Work

We concluded our Pharaoh' s topic with another fun day where we tried to reassure the Pharaoh Khufu that all would be well for him in the after life (he was a bit worried!) We wrote Spells of Protection to guide him through the Underworld which we copied onto papyrus, designed and made an amulet of protection and created an amazing headdress (nemes) for him to wear when he met Osiris. We needed to measure the circumference of our heads to get a good fit. We just hope his heart weighs lighter than a feather and that Amut will not devour his soul! It has been a great topic but we are now looking forward to Peasants, Princes and Pestilence which will take us to the Middle Ages and the Black Death! Should be fun!
