Science Investigation - Testing materials

1/2RB and 1JD got to take part in a great Science experiment. They had learnt about materials and their different properties. We received a letter from Beegu (an alien from space) telling us he needed a waterproof hat when he came to visit Earth. He kept getting wet in the rain. He asked us if we would test some materials to find out which one was waterproof.

We had four materials to test; foil, paper, cardboard and plastic.

We predicted which one was the most waterproof and the least waterproof.

We then went outside and tested the materials. We put our coats and hoods on and then our teachers had to pour some water over our heads to see which material was waterproof.

That’s how we found out that plastic was the most waterproof and paper was the least.

We had lots of fun and really enjoyed the experiment.

Take a look at the photos and some of our work.
