Year 6 NW 2020 - 2021
Mrs Winters and Mrs Deakin welcome you to Year 6NW.
Year six have had an extremely busy start to the year and have been working hard! Our new topic is 'A Child's War' and we are thoroughly enjoying discovering information about The Blitz and the affect it had on children. We have also tried to imagine what life would be like as an evacuee!
In year six, we are learning about the heart and the circulatory system. We have made our own blood samples to help with our understanding of blood composition!
Welcome to our class page, we will keep you updated with all the exciting work we are doing.
Our new school for Year Six pupils is 8:30 to 2:50. Parents will need to bring pupils to school and collect them. If you would like your child to walk home on their own please complete the letter which will be being sent home.
Pupils will need to be collected from the fire exit of our classroom if they are being picked up.
The only items pupils should bring to school are a coat, waterbottle and their packed lunch (if they have one).
Our PE day is Thursday. On Thursdays pupils should come to school dressed in their PE kit.
Each week pupils have a range of homework to complete, either on paper or online. Pupils do not need to return paper copies of homework to school. They will receive;
- Spelling homework - paper copies and on the school website VLE.
- Maths homework - paper copies and on the school website VLE.
- Reading homework - on readingonyourhead.com
- Maths with Parents - online maths work at https://mathswithparents.com/
